I’m not sure if my case is isolated but I have had the LONGEST MOST FRUSTRATING and UNPROFESSIONAL experience with this company.
My furniture suffered some WATER DAMAGE when it was left over there in the beginning of April 2021. When I came back to my furniture in August 2021 to move into my new apartment I was surprised to see that my furniture had MOLD, OBVIOUS STAINS from the WATER DAMAGE, and ANTS INFESTING and BREAKING THEM DOWN.
Without questions asked, this was horrifying to see. When I investigated the surroundings to find out what could have been the source of the water damage I found that the window near the unit assigned to me has been opened. This was likely the cause of the moisture from the rain fall and humidity. Needless to say, the staff in this Depotium failed to protect my items as agreed in the contract. However, this was just the beginning of my terrible experience with them.
As a concerned customer, my first initial thought was to call them as my case was sensitive. I tried to call them over the course of multiple business days and no one was ever at their office to answer me.
Why do you guys have an office and phone line if you are RARELY REACHABLE and STAFF ARE NEVER PRESENT during the indicated office hours? BIG YIKES.
I was finally able to get in contact with them after an unreasonable long time. I was put in contact with a woman named Ummu. Firstly, I’m not sure why my case was being taken care of by this woman because she is incredibly incompetent at her position. As I said, I’m not sure if my case is isolated but I was always chasing her down for updates of my claim. She never once initiated a follow up email with me which would have been reassuring from a customer’s point of view as it lets me know that my case is being taken care of. In addition, she ALWAYS TOOK LONG TO RESPOND or sometimes NEVER RESPONDED.
The exchanges between us went on over a course of a few months and towards the end of September I realized that this woman has not given me an update at all. When I contacted her again, she finally asked for a shipping address so that my claim can be sent out. She PROMISED me that I would be receiving this mail mid-October, I am now writing this at the end of October because I have not received it yet. After providing her my address I thought that my claim was finally reaching a resolution but when I didn’t receive my mail by the date promised, I reached out again as Ummu and I like to play chase apparently.
She told me that the letter has been sent back to the head office and is being held there. After reviewing the information that I gave her, everything had been correct from my end. When I double checked the address that she provided the insurance company, I found her mistake. This woman gave them the wrong address which adds more time to this process. That cheque that the insurance company sent me will not be valid for deposit as it doesn’t match my address. In my opinion, this woman should not be working in a position that requires someone to have great attention to detail, good communication skills, and administrative abilities.
I told her to forward me to the Head Office but as she always does, no reply. If the HO sees this and would like to contact me about my case, please do so. I am incredibly tired of dealing with this woman. We are entering the 4th month of this claim process which is embarrassing for this company as claims like this should only be taking maximum a month.
